Historical Background
The idea of Investment Forum in Sochaczew emerged in summer 2011, while we were preparing a project conference „Investment potential of Sochaczew” in cooperation with the Masovia Development Agency S.A, (that took place in the Chopin Hotel on the 26th of October, 2011). Actually, we started organizing the 1st Investment Forum in Sochaczew simultaneously with the project conference. Investment Forum took place on the 24th of November, 2011 and it met with the great interest of local governments of Sochaczew Country as well as local business and invited companies.
The very success of this event confirmed our position and assumption that was exactly such promotion of the city and it’s investment potential we needed the most. We were confident that only serious pro-investment policy of local government would bring desired results. Yet in the late 2011 and early 2012 we commenced with organization of the 2nd Investment Forum in Sochaczew that was realized on the 13th of September, 2012 in the Magnat Residence.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Mr. Waldemar Pawlak took honorary patronage over the forum. Among patrons and partners there were such entities as the Masovia Development Agency S.A., Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency, Polish Agency of Enterprise Development, Alliance Fracaise and chambers of economy representing eight countries. Forum was popularized via internet webpage www.investin.sochaczew.pl and about ten media partners, as for instance Polska. The Times. Thanks to the commitment of local authorities and fifteen sponsor-companies, it was organized on a very professional level.
In the 2nd Investment Forum in Sochaczew participated over one hundred guests representing sixty one enterprises. Among them there were representatives of such business lines as the AT and IT branches, automotive industry, shipping and logistic branch, textile industry, medical branch and telecommunication.
Moreover, several guests represented foreign companies from the USA, France, Belgium, India and Taiwan.
In the course of the 2nd Investment Forum in Sochaczew emerged suggestions to rise the rank of event to the regional one and even to the national one in perspective. Success of the forum confirmed adequacy of this course of action. At the end of the last year conference, Mr. Piotr Osiecki, Mayor of Sochaczew in his final speech invited participants to the Masovian Investment Forum on the 14th of November, 2013.
